Unwinding

The strings on the piano are tightly coiled and under great tension. It has to be that way to work right. But too much tension and things would break.

The piano is inanimate though. It is not self-tuning.

You are the one who turns up the tension on your own strings.

But things are stressful! I can't help it!

Maybe, but the same things could be taken completely differently by someone else. They could be relaxing! We don't know how exactly, but we know it would be different.
